A5 size (148.5mm x 210mm) is very similar to half-letter size (5.5in x8.5in) but it is a bit shorter but wider. A5 Planners are meant to be fitted with A5 sized inserts but half-letter size prints could still fit on them.

A5 size is used for planners like Filofax A5, Kikki K Large or LV Agenda GM while popular Half-letter size (also called Junior size, half-sheet or half-page) planner brands are Franklin Covey, Arc & Circa planners.

  1. Make sure you are using the correct file based on the paper you are going to use for printing. Use the file marked "letter size" for Letter size paper (8.5in x 11in) or the one marked "A4" for A4 paper (210mm x 297mm).
  2. Use the file marked "half-letter size" for exact pre-cut half-letter size paper or the one marked "A5" for pre-cut A5 paper . For these types of sizes, each file contains 2 pages. The first page is for the left-side of the spread of the planner and the 2nd page is for the right-side. Wider margins are provided for the side of the planner ring holes.
  3. Print in 100% or "actual size" settings, not fit to page.
  4. If you printed on A4 or Letter size paper, the printed output are meant to be cut into 2 using the crop marks as guides.
  5. For double sided printing on A4 or Letter size paper: The pages were already centered horizontally and vertically so if you wish to print double-sided just flip your paper and print at the back side. The print should land exactly aligned with the front print. For a custom arrangement of different printable layouts, you can check out this postFor double sided printing on exact A5 or half-letter size paper: Remember to print page 2 at the back of page 1 or vice versa.
  6. If you are using a printer with double sided printing option, skip step 5 and just enable the "double sided print" or "print on both sides" option and check the "flip on short side" option.
